
Tuesday was the last day of snow, even though it was still cold the bright sun started to melt what was by now a thin covering. Grass was soon peaking through and apart from the odd sheltered bush, none remained upon the trees…giving a different view through the woods…
Whilst it was still cold enough for our lake to remain frozen there was that ominous cracking across the surface, so even here the thaw had started…

The blue skies became hazier but the sun still tried to add some extra charm to what had been another rather nice day for December..

As the day progressed we began to get weather warnings that rain was on the way. So it was no surprise to wake this morning to a very wet grey day. Not that we are in any doubt that we will get more snow sometime this winter but for the moment the forecasters are being rather vague.
