Rugged Coastline….. but Home for many

Flamborough-Head

Flamborough Head, on the rugged Yorkshire Coast

Like a finger pointing the direction to sea, the rugged white cliffs at Flamborough Head also beckon sea birds to these cliffs to make them their spring and summer homes.  For many miles along this part of the Yorkshire coast, these white cliffs are vital and internationally important breeding sites for many species of ocean going birds.  For many, once the young are fledged, it is off out to the wild oceans for the winter months.  For others is is a long migratory flight across the equator and down to Africa and beyond…..  memorising the route so they can retrace their winged journey the following year.

Just to help ensure no disaster’s occur to our human maritime travellers, Flamborough Head Lighthouse sends out its constant warning beam.

However far your journey….
