Shardlow – Page 2 – DAVID OAKES

A sunny afternoon…. it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, as here in our small corner of middle England we have had a run of days of two halves. Mornings dismal (or worse) afternoons, by dramatic contrast, lovely and sunny.

Yesterday, the afternoon was sunny again. So after a morning at the desk, a walk along the Trent & Mersey Canal at the inland port of Shardlow was selected. Just the spot to get some fresh air into the lungs and exercise those lethargic limbs. Shardlow never disappoints, whilst never likely to be as busy as it was in the late 1800’s and 1900’s… there is always something happening, friendly boaters to talk to, and something to please the eye.
