I must have passed this tree at a thousand times and more, yet it is only today I had my eyes wide open enough to spot this ‘Doorway’. Admittedly it is a very small door, about 2ft high, but none the less this is a tree I often stop by to survey the morning light through the woods. I guess its for the little folk….. pixies or elves, but I have no idea if there is a significance to the Number 5. If any one should know of a Fairy Tale or Rhyme that would give us a clue…then please let us all into the secret!

Not sure what the number 5 means, but I still think it’s pretty cool you found a fairy/elf doorway. Not many folks can say that!
Side note. I make fairy doors in my woodshop for folks that would like to have them in the home or garden. They average about 4 inches in height, made of wood, in many shapes, and designs.

This image would go very well with a story I used to tell my children, about a naughty little girl who wandered into the woods and was magically transported down through an opening in a tree trunk to meet the Fairy Queen, who told her to make sure to obey her mommy in future. 😀

Several thoughts come to mind: Did you knock? There’s a (door?)knob there. Did you pull it? Those seem to be the easiest ways to start to answer your questions. If nothing comes of these initial attempts, you could always try to put a note of inquiry under the door, or if there’s no space, you could tack it to the door. It seems worth the effort.

Today the Tree’s Door
is marked number five.
Tomorrow it will be eleven,
At mid-summer’s night
It turns to seven.
Only then will the moonbeam cakes
Dance and leaven.
Great image & writing prompt – Now there is a rhyme. 😀
