Autumn colours start to appear….first it is what we call the ‘exotics’ the none native trees.
Soon, and for a short while, it will be gold all over the woods…..providing the winds leave us alone.

A great voice that was too quickly gone again. Eva Cassidy with Falling Leaves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXBNlApwh0c

My friend is dying, David. In this Fall she will move on to what many call: Heaven. I am already missing her. Our conversations and debates (oh yes) and our laughter and giggling. The wise woman she still is but all that wisdom will be gone soon enough. Pneumonia was the beginning. Pulmonary embolism was what followed and the third blow she got was the fact that she has cancer with only weeks before she has to go. She loves bare trees so she can see the beauty of the trunk and branches. The Fall, Autumn, is the way to the time that all leaves are fallen. I so hope she still sees the bare trees before she goes.
This song is great by whoever it sings but Eva Cassidy touches something extra. Hope you will enjoy her version like I do.

Just like the trees we all have our own seasons….. but from what you have said in the past you have made the most of the times you had together. Memories are as important as living life. Think back with a big smile 🙂

Thank you so much. I already do. Only sometimes it’s just a wee hard. Like when I hear Eva Cassidy. 😉 Betty and Ron and I met in august 1982 in Richmond, Yorkshire. Or rather, on the way to Hudswell. House was called: Six Acres. Betty and Ron were there in their three wheeler little car. A Robin Reliant. I sat in front. Betty navigated from the backseat and we never stopped laughing it seems. Even though it was pretty hairy at times. 😀
The Dales had no guardrails then along roads with steep ravines and Ron hated to break a lot. It became a friendship that lasted since then. Over 35 years. Almost half a lifetime of warm friendship, advise, pick me ups, sad times when Ron took very ill and died and happier and happy times in recent years.
It’s been marvellous. Who finds such great people in their lives? It makes me feel ever so grateful.
