Allestree Lake
Yesterday, Sunday we woke to the long threatened covering of snow.Β Sadly no blue sky just a dark grey cloud that hung just above the tree level. Surprisingly it was not as cold as it has been, so I guess this snow covering will soon be long gone…gone probably before you get to read this page.
But it made a change for our mornings walkies and Buster, despite his short legs, just loves to run in the snow….for him the thicker the better.

Off Sledging…
Then and Now…..
It is hard to think back just two weeks when this low slung bow of Beech draped itself gracefully over the lake….now just the skeleton is left to catch a little of the snow….
and so the month moves on….it will soon be the Winter Solstice, then Christmas followed by the New Year and before you know it Spring will be back
11th December

They are indeed. Winter is definitely here. We had about 4 inches of snow overhere and in the South 6 inches. And then the thaw came. Not all was melted so today there is ice under the snow and I am staying put. More snow is expected. Another 4 to 6 inches. Real thaw only tomorrow or Wednesday. Staying indoor means twice a day on the home trainer… π Take care when you are going out. It’s beautiful, but can be quite dangerous.

Just like our nature looks this morning as well! Approximately 1 cm of snow! It won’t take much to get rid of it!
I think I’ll take one deep breath . . . π

Well, they call it ‘winter’ π
But last year the winter lasted for 4-5 weeks. That wasn’t so bad! And with the Christmas behind us, it’s getting brighter day by day!

To be frank we have seen heavier and worse. But it is more unusual here than many countries so we do make a meal of it when it does snow π
