Who Stole the Snow….

Big Wood, Allestree…

Monday was a very different day….Overnight rain had washed away Sundays snow and this morning the sun has decided to come out to play.

Temperatures have reached a dizzy 10c and what a difference it made, not all of it for the good….underfoot it is now muddy, a case of one step forward and two back.

That sun has also revealed the first of this years wild Snowdrops in a corner of the woods, so spring must be on the way…

_DOI5805bbRather a nice day to be out and about, just to potter about in the warming sunshine…

Β Down by the Lake there is still some Ice remaining just to remind us that whilst Spring is on the way Winter may well have a sting in its tail..

  1. Must have been us, David, but I’ve got wind of a coming change. The bitter cold forcasted seems to hit us somewhat further North. Where I live, we’re in for 2 dayus of heavy rains and temperatures of 4-6 PLUS!!!
That will surely have an effect on the snow!

  2. Wonderful photos again, David but please be careful with walking on slippery surfaces like the forest ground etc. Delighted to see bits of spring. Sun’s out now, but he won’t be here long. More rain and wind is promised for de recordbraking Wednesday concerning the highest temperatures ‘ever’ in mid winter. Ha! πŸ˜€

      1. Morning! 12 it is. Higher even. It’s going to beat even 13ΒΊ overhere and in the middle of the country they expect even higher temperatures. All records broken. Decided this morning to do my weekly shopping and be home before the gales hit us again with force 8 to 9. Well, I’m snugly at home with me pot of tea and a sandwich and loads of work for the tenants committee. We are organising a Housing debate with local politicians. Just normal people they told me. Well….. hehehe… not quite. Have a great day you all.
