Shipley Woods
Same woods that hosted the snowdrop spectacular yesterday…. but a very different feel.
The character is very different. This is the windward side of the wood, the opposite side of the hill…… and the winds of late have done a great job of sweeping the woodland floor. There are still some leaves about but for the most part the woods have had a ‘Spring Clean’.

The early morning sun added a warm feel to what was in reality a cold morning
but I couldn’t resist a last peak at the Snowdrops….

Good aftenoon. The Russian Bear is coming and this weather system will stretch out to the Atlantic coast, when I have to believe our weathermen/women. It IS cold. A thin cold wind from the East tot North East forde 4-5. As from the weekend wind will het stronger to forse 6. Chill factors came on TV. I got all my shopping for next week today. All of it this time. 😉 The birght sunny days however, are very nice, Colours keep changing and crocusses are still fighting the cold and show their colours, white, yellow and purple. For the most time I will stay indoors. Get on my hometrainer every day in front of the TV.
You brave the cold for your walks. We enjoy thos photos. Very much! Thank you!

I think we have a few more sunny days before the Beast from the East reaches us. It is already cold but in the sun still comfortable. The thermals are ready !!

Aye. Same here. I am lucky that the wind is not on this side of the building. It always is with every wind coming from the SW to the NE and all in between. This time it’s East North East and East. Wrapped the potplants in binbags meant for the green trolley bins.Nice and large but not keeping out the light completely. Foliage is now covered in black plastic and lots of rope to keep it all on. The wind does blow accross my balcony and I have seen wind untie the best of knots. I also wrapped the pots in black plastic line with balles of newpaper. To keep the air trapped in. Temperature will more or less stay just under zero or just above zero. My willow branches and oleander bushes are worth to try this.
There is warning of snow next week. I don’t need to be out anymore. I can hang in here till winter has gone. 🙂
