The snow is patchy in our part of the world….being a dry soft snow most had blown away overnight.ย But some still lingered on. Early morning and the sky did hold out some promise…sadly it was a false promise and the day returned to grey.
The wind was bitter adding to the below freezing temperatures…but that wind kept the water on the Lake moving and so preventing it from entirely freezing over…
Much to the delight and relief of one of the Lake residents…

The goose seems to have a problem understanding what has happened?! Who’s responsible for this mess?

If it’s any consolation to you, it does seem like the worst has passed over and disappeared over the horizon. During the last 7-8 days we’ve had temperatures around 15-20 below zero, but the coming week is forcasted with an even 4-5 degrees – still on the chilly side – but nevertheless – moving into the right direction –

Floods are the next problem on the weather horizon

Tell me about it! We have places experiencing major floods every year because the municipal leaders likes to think that everything is special and won’t be happening next year (which, of course, it does!) This year we’ve had as much as 3 times the usual volume of snow and the chances are good that we’ll have floods at least double as high as usual! (What, again?)

They blame climate change…. and that is true to an extent but here it is authorities saving money and not investing that makes a bad situation worse. They may save money from their budgets but everyone else picks up the tab.

I love that goose. He doesn’t look puzzled to me. More like:” Oy…can you get rid of this stuff please? I’m so fed up with this.”
Which I can understand fully. It’s white here as well and yes, it’s melting but the sun isn’t able to burn throught the clouds. Besides, kid piled the snow in front of our entrancedoor to ca. 50 cm’s. And the carpark is tuning into an ice field. Bother, I would have like to go out today. I won’t now. Maybe tomorrow. ‘They’ tell us it will be +9 tomorrow overhere. Yeah… we will see. Indeed. ๐

Still inside. Sun is warmer. You can really feel it and see the snow melt away quickly but at the entrance downstairs lies still a heap op melting snow and ice. I’d better wait another day. ๐
