Good Friday…. an update on the Holiday Weather

All Calm over Allestree Lake, Derbyshire

It is a long Bank Holiday Weekend over Easter here in the UK….and as is the tradition the weather is as they say “iffy”.

If you have read this mornings Blog you will know that the forecasters  where hedging their bets, forecasting everything apart from high winds.(https://davidoakesimages.wordpress.com/2018/03/30/i-wonder-what-to-day-will-bring-on-the-weather-front/)

Last night we had a heavy deluge of rain.  This morning it abated and we had some brief spells of sunshine.  Now clouding over and rain threatening. But as it is a Bank Holiday Weekend inclement weather is the norm.

  1. Surprise this morning. In one of my containers on the balcony lives a lesser celandine. The first yellow flower in spring. No idea what’s it doing on the 6th floor of an appartment building. But this one and the two dandelions are very welcome indeed. A wee bit of sunshine and more rain expected. It’s also Full Moon. Weather changes sometimes at either Full Moon or at New Moon. I hope it won’t be two weeks of rain…
