With blue skies and bright warm sunshine I think we have had the rush of spring flowers and have now moved straight into the start of summer.Β Our meadows that surround the woods are now packed with sweet smelling meadow flowers, herbs and clovers, mostly yellows and greens but with the occasional splash of magenta and red.Β As with all things in nature they will not last for ever but for a week or two the display (good weather permitting) can only get better.. there is also an abundance of insects all desperately feeding from the nectar whilst pollinating as they go…
In a shady corner on the edge of the wood I was surprised to find that some Bluebells are still providing there unique colour…admittedly they are on their last legs but still fighting for the light…

It’s the same over in these parts. From icy cold winds one day till a couple of weeks with windy, however, very warm days with air temperatures around 25-30 degrees. Imagine what it is in direct sunlight! Why payn thousands to go to Spain or Southern Europe? Puh! π

We just have to hope that summer lasts…as we both know weather can and does change sometimes giving us its worst side π

My problem (with age) is that my tolerance field has shrinked now from 6 – 25C (Plus that is! π )

It’s like I can smell the flowers meadow. It looks warm. We haven’t got so much sun. Mostly clouds with in the South YELLOW warnings for torrential rains and mudfloods. Not here, although we do have clouds, a wee bit of rain and very warm, quite sticky days. Tomorrow and Thursday are supposed to be the same as today. Weather changes seem to be often at New Moon and sometimes at Full Moon. It is clear that the climate is changing.

Forward forecast is not too bad, a small interruption possible on Friday of thunder…then back to summer for the weekend π

and we do know how lucky we are…. even if we do complain when the weather isn’t so good. π

Aye but complaining about the weather seems to be one of life’s necessities. I believe firmly it’s universal. π

Your summer start looks really lush – here we also have summer…but a bit too much. Fires have been raging for a couple of days now, and they even warn us not to have any machines going in dry grass…But I don’t mean to complain about the warm weather. It is just that it does not feel “natural”. And moreover….this might be the summer we get this year…rain and cold in June, July?

Hot, cold, wet, dry it all seems out of sync this last winter and spring. We also have wild fires on the high moors and at nesting time that is not good news. But my gut feeling is that we will have a wet late June and July.

That is my feeling as well. Enjoy this while it is here.

Good advice. The climate is affected by Global Warming. It is quite noticable. As long as it is enjoyable I choose to anjoy it to the fullest. Hope those fire won’t come near you.
