A Calm by the Lake
It was with some relief that we managed a dry(ish) walk yesterday…there was a rather quite lull between the heavy rains and yesterdays wind, welcome and for a couple of hours. It was an opportunity not to be missed, a refreshing spell in the outdoors.
The meadows and wildflowers have had rather a beating but the wild Foxgloves do seem robust enough to withstand the worst…. I guess they are also one of my favourite flowers to encounter in the countryside. With the vegetation being so lush it is not so surprising that the rains have made there mark…as for this field gate I guess it is going to be some time before it can swing closed…. it is a good job that right now it is only meadows flowers that it would be protecting
Now it just remains to dry off the boots 🙂

Glad that you were able to get out between showers. We have foxgloves in the garden – wild and cultivated – and they do tend to stand their ground in our very windy garden!
