Whilst Autumn has yet to show is full hand there are one or two small signs of change.
The most noticeable are the mornings, mornings that are later to start. Then we find that the sun is much lower in the sky casting longer shadows across the woods. But the warmth and recent rains have ensured that the understore is still full, rich and lush.

As for some other small signs of the progressing season….well Fungi is exploding in places, berries are in multitude and Butterflies are feeding on the fading Buddleia…

And as Buster would agree….. not a bad September morning to be leisurely mooching through the woods…. as for that sun, well its still nice and warm…

It is hers, whose vitality leaps in the autumn’ (from Autumn Journal, Louis McNeice)

I’m welcoming September and you certainly helped me do so with these lovely photos. I feel autumn in the air each morning here too.
