It wasn’t to be……. well not this year

Liverpool Waterfront

If all had gone to plan,  today we should have been waving goodbye to Liverpool.  This trip would have been to Madeira, the Canary Islands and back via various ports of call in Portugal.

We all know why those plans have come to an abrupt halt.

I guess it will be next year, at the very earliest, that we will take that first evening stroll round the ships decks….. as to where the destination will be we will have to wait and see.  Maybe the reality will be for all of us….. stay close to home holidays

I wonder just what is on the Horizon for all of us.

Those memories we have made will be even more important 🙂

    1. Yes, I think you are right prices will go up, travel insurance inevitably will be more expensive, they have found just how costly the disasters can be. Apart from the post pandemic practicalities, which I think will be there for some time, I also think that travel attitudes will change. In my view there will be two main types. Those who will feel released and head off to all the exotic locations. Then there are those who may well be more thoughtful about their travel, thought about the dangers, the distances, the locations and the environmental cost. The remainder will choose to stay in their own countries. Somehow normal will not be normal as we know it. Maybe travel wise we have enjoyed the best of times.

  1. Travel will surely never be the same, and there will be new essential precautions to be sure, but there will also be new opportunities. I’m really looking forward to the latter.

    1. Maybe the local Tourist Industries will benefit….. and being sarcastic the number of folk who can tell me all about there overseas travel yet know so little about their own county. The new Norm what ever that is will be the norm for quite some time. Lets enjoy what we do have 🙂
