And ….. Down came the Rain

It started as only a fine drizzle, then later it turned rather heavy.  It was also rather dull and dismal.

Best not to complain (but I probably will) as we have had a long and record breaking run of lovely sunny April weather.

The mornings rain didn’t quite reach the Bluebells, you can though see more clearly today that they are starting to fall back, the leaves first, soon those stems with their bells.

Then the heavens opened and the rain came down with a vengeance…

As I said…best not to complain….. the garden does need the rain 🙂

  1. We welcome every little bit of rain that we get (and for the last quarter-year it has truly been only a little bit. I think I can count the days when we’ve had what most folks would call “real” rain on the fingers of one hand. Your area sure looks lush and well-watered. Good for you–embrace and enjoy it!

    • It does look lush. But weather changes and at times quickly. We did have heavy rains for over 5 months over the winter. Floods in many areas from January through March. The ground just like a wet sponge. Then magically April came along and we have the driest April on record and the hottest since 2011. The real tragedy for many at this moment is their struggle with houses that have been underwater, no power, etc who were facing months of drying out then repairs…. now in lockdown for CV19 with no chance of building work. It tough for all but my heart goes out to those families who have lost everything. But back to the weather….. we just have to accept what we get and when we get it. Maybe that is as well 🙂
