Loch an Eilean, Rothiemurchus, Cairngorms, Scotland
Surrounded by the Rothiemurchus Forest, Loch an Eilean is both tranquil in parts but in others rather a puzzle (well a puzzle for me that is). Remnants of trees sinking into the dark waters, yet signs that new land is forming along this margin. Yet the water levels do not appear to be higher than what one would call normal. Is the Loch filling in or is reclaiming land from the edge of the forest. What ever, even on a stormy day the Loch is a great location for a peaceful walk, only Crossbills and Red Squirrels for company and some times midges!

Well the loch has been there for many many centuries…. so if it is going I guess it will still be with us for probably many more centuries in some shape or form 🙂

Careful what you ask for (or do). On day you may wake up without any weather at all! 🙂

It is…though Buster and I did end up soaked, those clouds delivered a thunderstorm. Despite that it was still a magical place to be 🙂
