The Old Mill by the Stream….

The-Mill-by-the-StreamGracing the bridge and stradling the River Burn is the 18th century Water Mill at Burnham Overy, Norfolk.

The Mill itself was built in 1790 but the bridge pre-dates the Mill.  The Mill became the centre of a quite large rural industrial complex of stables, blacksmiths workshop and other agricultural trades.  All now long gone….but the Mill, which is a National Trust Property,  provides some self catering accommodation.

Despite being on a busy road, it is still a rather idyllic location and can conjure up images of an earlier life.

    1. Sue…. as you know there are times when you are a photographer when you just have to wait till the moment is right. In the visitor season it is very busy, but I also wonder how many of those visitors know what they are passing. 🙂
