Furlong Meadow Oak, Allestree, Derbyshire
It did take a while for the sun to wake up this January morning. The grey clouds cleared and we were donated a clear blue sky and a sun that did actually warm the soul.
It was still very wet underfoot, overnight rain falling on recently hard ground ensured that you watched your footing. Lockdown restricts us to our local area…. but that is no hardship. The Parkland and Woods are always worth strolling through, watching the seasons gradual changes….. mind you some scenes today, do look rather autumnal, rather than a winters January day.
The Lake has been frozen for several days now, but the air temperature has suddenly risen and with the sun, the thaw has been swift. As always after ice the Lake does look rather dark…
Mid afternoon and that sun still shines…… the thermometer reads 9c. So we will say thank you for a rather grand January day and wait to see, if the sun remembers to wake up again tomorrow. 🙂
(P.S. Did you spot the shoes “decorating” the Furlong Oak)
As always, no matter the weather….
Please Remember ….
