The Government’s of the various UK Countries have now published their “Road Maps” out of the CV19 Lockdown and easing of Travel Restrictions. If the Media is to be believed, that despite the date still being vague and subject to change, there has been a mad rush to book holidays both here in the UK and Overseas. Travel Companies overwhelmed.
May be its an age related state of mind….but, I am very hesitant to even contemplate travel and a holiday. I think back to last year when restrictions were ‘eased’, not lifted. The crowds that flooded our Beaches, car parks overflowing in the Countryside, Airports busy, shipping folk to favourite destinations, on so called safe routes. We all know how that ended.
I would love to head off… to travel and explore again. I do have many memories that tease and create anticipation…..itchy feet indeed
It would be nice to hop on a boat and head over a new horizon…it would also be nice, just to jump in the car and head off to somewhere in our Islands. Not sure I dare. Even with our Vaccinations safely in our arms, I am not sure I want to battle with crowds just yet.
Still nice to remember and dream….
For the time being I am going to do just that…

Perhaps dreaming is the still the wisest choice for the time being.

It would be nice just to have that little more freedom to extend out local horizon. Distance travel both here or abroad will, I think, for us remain a dream ….. but positive dreams I hope 🙂

In Canada we are still waiting for our vaccines and will be waiting for some time yet. Being able to broaden our horizon is still very much a dream. Long distance travel? Who knows. Stay safe and well.

It’s the socially unaware folk that worry me. It used to be a small minority but now that minority is rather large.

Agreed 👍 They just don’t care or think everyone is invincible.

Well, one thing is certain — they can’t restrict us from dreaming of travel.

I think you’re very wise to follow the most conservative path and not seriously consider travel anytime soon. Here in NZ we just gone back up to Level 3 last night, for at least seven days, and though it’s just a shadow of what you are going through, we need to be equally circumspect and cautious.

Along way to go yet in my view. Progress has been made but it is fragile
