A Sunny Sunday……

_DOI8852qq

I guess this Sunday was when the last days of summer confront the first days of Autumn.  In the garden there is much that still says summer….in fact our Honeysuckle is on its third round of abundant flowers.  Elsewhere the Sedum is a magnet for Bees and Butterflies… yes, to our delight and surprise Butterflies.  We have missed them this summer as our garden has always be a food attraction for them.  At the moment it is Tortoiseshell, Red Admiral and  Comma that are here today.

The signs of autumn are mainly in our local woodland and fields.  Leaves slowly turning, Fungi pushing up to the light and ready to spread their spores. Out and about, or in the garden, it is a colourful merger of two seasons ahead of Thursdays Autumn Equinox.

It is always a time of mixed emotions…..  time passes so quickly, so we are both sad to see summers decline, but also look forward, in anticipation of the beauty of autumn and its colours.
