After several days of monsoon like rains, high winds and the occasional burst of sunshine, we woke this morning to a clear blue sky and a sun that did generate some welcome warmth.
That was one surprise. The other, that the Silver Birch along with the majority of trees had shaken off any threat and were still looking rather spritely.
The only real autumnal colours were on the Chestnut Trees and some of the Beech. The real exception on the Ash have dropped just about all their leaves and now showing off their skeletons.
I did say that the sun was warming and it was, but the Lake did look rather cold.
Even at close of play this evening the sky was gin clear blue….. we may well have a frost tomorrow
Sunshine and /or frost…. the progress to autumn is slow. No matter we must all still…
Please Remember ….
