Colder than it looks…… but it is November

Sunshine can be so deceptive…..  whilst it is doing a great job lighting up the Derbyshire Countryside, it is more than a little cold.  The wind direction has changed and has its origins in Iceland.  As an aside I should mention that the rural scene above was until a few years ago an open cast Coal Mine, the scars healing well.

But our destination was Shipley Woods.  A wood of mainly Beech Trees with some Oak’s. This year autumn has been elusive – well if not elusive, lets say different from the usual. We were here a few weeks ago hunting for those golden autumnal colours for which these woods are noted. There were none, though some trees were bare.  Today there is certainly some of autumns golden colours but still many trees still showing green.  None the less it was a rather fine autumnal blend, later than usual but best not to complain.

Another great morning to be out and about, as it is November its best to take advantage of these bonus sunny days when we can.

But I tell a lie…..  they are not sunny days but sunny mornings.  Come lunchtime the clouds roll in and that dull grey washes over the countryside.

Maybe tomorrow we will have another sunny autumn morning….. who knows, the forecasters have been far from accurate in our neck of the woods…

A bonus morning that was much appreciated.

Wherever you are and whatever your weather,  enjoy and……
