The Lake had a thin layer of ice, the mist lingered and clung to the trees in the early morning light…
Winter sun always hangs low in the sky, with little to no wind, that mist hung around for most of the morning. It did eventually rise above tree level giving the blue sky a wispy covering. Frost remained in the shadows and the Highland cattle sought out those areas of grazing catching the sun. Despite the thaw on the Lake the waters remained dark with an icy look.
Cold, misty and sunny….. I can live with that as a January day, after all it is winter.
