It is called the “Birdcage” and can be found in the gardens of Melbourne Hall, Derbyshire.
It is the work of a master Blacksmith Robert Bakewell. Bakewell constructed the Birdcage in the late 1700’s. It is just one of many great architectural design features, for gardens, estates and even a Cathedral, all have stood the test of time.
It is my submission for this week’s Cees Fun Foto Challenge….. what better way to illustrate the creative use of Metal with a last legacy of a craftsman’s skill.
The setting for the Birdcage is also special. Lakeside in the grounds of historic Melbourne Hall.
You can join in the challenge. Follow this link to Cee’s blog:- https://ceenphotography.com/2022/03/22/cffc-metal/
Have fun, enjoy but also. in these strange and troubled times…
