Arbroath, Angus, North East Coast of Scotland
Once a very prosperous Scottish Fishing Port. There was a time when it was wall to wall fishing vessels. The town was also home to a host of ancillary businesses, processing, transport, chandlery, marine engineering, and of course fuel and supplies… fishing was an industry. It even had its own fish speciality known as the Arbroath Smokie’s.*… and that is a production tradition that continues today.
*(Arbroath Smokies are smoked on the bone Haddock)
Now the harbour is home to ‘rich boys toys’ with just a few working boats.
Not sure that is real progress. Arbroath Harbour might have changed, but still remains a colourful location to potter around….. and maybe treat yourselves to some Smokies 🙂
Saturday…. enjoy your weekend but as always….
