This very venerable old Oak, known locally as The Furlong Oak, is just starting to show signs that autumnal change is on the way. It has seen so much over its long life…. but as each autumn arrives, we do wonder if this may just be its last year. It is a tough old Oak tree so we do hope it will flourish again in 2023.
It’s certainly been a productive season for all Oak trees, masses of acorns can be found in the shadows of these mighty trees…
The Ash tree is also an autumn indicator. Its leaves are turning yellow and shrivelling. One morning soon, I will find that this mass of leaf will have dropped overnight and lie thick on the ground.
So best just to enjoy this late summer sunshine whist we can..
A new week ahead, so as always…..
