Stoer Head Lighthouse, Assynt, West Highland Coast of Scotland
High on the cliff tops at Stoer, facing west on the often-wild Atlantic Coast, this guardian of the coastal waters has helped secure the safety of those on the seas for over 150 years…. Stoer is just one of over 200 Lighthouses that circle the Scottish Coast and its Islands.
Stoer Head Lighthouse in favourable weather can also look rather benign, hiding its other more dramatic lifestyle.
For those who like to walk the coastal extremes, Stoer Head make a great starting point for this part of the Assynt Peninsula, a remote wild area of Sutherland with a backdrop of great mountain vistas.
