The remote location of Saksun Church, Faroe Islands
Near the Northwest Coast of Streymoy Island in the Faroe’s is this lovely little Church of Saksun. It has been here at Saksun since 1858 …. but is much older. Originally it was in Tjornovik many miles away, but was dismantled, carried across the mountains, then re-erected here in Saksun, complete with its grass roof.
Dwarfed by its remote location, it has to be one of the most peaceful and is also one of my favourites.
Sunday should be a day to relax and recuperate making ourselves ready for the new week ahead…. whatever your plans…. as always….

I simply must do the Faroes and Iceland – especially the Faroes just look dynamic

They are. Faroes are often bypassed as folk head to Iceland, which is a shame

Oh my goodness, that is just the most beautiful spot! That little white church surrounded by such a majestic view. It surely is inspirational.
