Storefronts today tell both an Economic and Social story of our times. The most common sign in many onetime busy shopping areas are ‘To Let’ and ‘Lease for Sale’ signage. Then we have the shutters and hoardings over longer term closures. Of the shops that remain so many now play host to the Charity Sector.
Sadly a trend that has spread from the urban shopping parades to the larger Shopping Malls.
Easy to blame internet shopping but there are deeper, multi-issues, that are results of underlying trends that have killed off so many retail outlets.

Unfortunately, your photos tell the story over here in the USA too. So many closed storefronts. When our granddaughter told us her dad took her to a nearby indoor shopping mall, I asked her if it was fun. Her reply? No, most of the stores are empty.
