Lake Myvatn, Iceland
A more tranquil reminder of Iceland’s Volcanic life, its fiery creation and destruction. We have all seen the dramatic eruptions of recent months, a salutary reminder of just how fragile the earths crust can be. Not too sure I could cope with the threats that many Icelanders have to live with.
Here at Lake Myvatn is the heart of just one of Iceland’s Geothermal regions….. Uniquely attractive today, but the landscape illustrates its more violent past. But all is still boiling away underground… the area has several Thermal Powered Generating Stations. taking advantage of the asset provided by nature. But who knows all might change tomorrow.
Myvatn is translated into Lake of the Midges…. (and I can testify that is a true description – a little irritating, but they don’t bite)
Monday, a new week. We may have made plans, but for some they may change in a moment. So as always…..
Please Remember ….
