Everything is coming up Roses….well not just Roses. The end of July, in theory the summer has peaked. July is also going out with a flourish. To say its hot (and humid) would be an understatement, well 30c for us in middle England is HOT.
Hydrangeas are defiantly a summer flower. As we also house the National Collection in our local Park another visit to see their seasonal progress seemed a good idea. The other benefit is that adjoin the Hydrangeas is a Herbaceous and Butterfly Garden. In view of the heat an early morning expeditions seemed the best idea.

This year the seasons and weather have been unpredictable, but the Hydrangeas have still manged to put on a good display. OK, some are now fading, but most are in their prime and there are still some later blooms yet to peak. Here are a few images from this morning to share with you….
The other benefit of starting early on a hot day, apart from making the most of slightly cooler weather, was that I had the Park virtually to myself, time to think clearly in a day getting hotter. and humid.

So goodbye July…. and now I wonder what August has in store for us…
No matter what…always….

We’re hoping August brings some rain, but I’m not holding my breath on that one.
