Plodding though some images of an Icelandic trip of a few years ago, I came across this image.
It is of Lake Myvatn. Located in the heart of Iceland’s volcanic thermal region. It is as you can clearly see, is a landscape shaped by centuries of volcanic activity.
It triggered a reminder of headline in a News bulletin that was reporting on the more recent Eruptions…it made mention of Myvatn.,,,,, so wonder just how much this distinctive landscape has changed again.
(Lake Myvatn translates to Lake of the Midges…. and I can vouch for its accuracy)

Iceland… it is a great place to visit. Yesterday I came cross some views from Iceland (on TV film), and now I watch your photograph. Iceland such a place that it has a natural beauty with incredible contrasts,… Like in your photograph and like what I watched last night, granite rocks surrounded by white, dark green waters and asphalt road… What amazing view. Thank you dear David, Love, nia
