I know its only a Robin… and no, this isn’t a pre-Christmas warning.
It was late afternoon and we had a sudden burst of sunshine (we were rationed to just 30 minutes) … and out popped the Robin. I would like to say our Robin, why? Simply because until this year, we have always enjoyed the company of a family of Robins and Wrens, plus a wide selection of Garden Birds changing over the seasons.
Many people here in the UK., have been mentioning a large decline in bird numbers. Certainly on my local walks there are noticeably fewer and in our garden they have all but vanished. We have changed nothing in either habitat, water or feeding. The only birds to remain faithful are a couple of Collard Doves and several Pigeons both Wood and Feral.
A lone, and no doubt brave Robin, is a both a surprise and a welcome visitor….. if only he stays, that is the next question.
Have a good weekend, enjoy…. and….

I hate to boast but we could let you have some of ours. We’ve had, and are having, a bumper year this year, although fewer blackbirds!
