Lichfield Cathedral
The three tall spires of the Cathedral dominate the small Staffordshire City of Lichfield. A truly majestic building with its decorated west front, perhaps one of its outstanding features. Dating back to the 13th Century, but like many others, linked to much earlier religious buildings and locations. Over the intervening years the Cathedral has seen much turbulence and violence, yet still it stands proud. If you would like to know more, the usual search engines have some historic facts to explore.
Meantime… take a look at view highlights of the Cathedral…

There are lots of great Cathedrals, as you know very well, but some have that extra special feel as you enter. I am not religious, but I do absorb something special that you cannot really describe. Lichfield is just one of those locations. That said it is the exterior which is extra special…. the skill of those stonemasons is incredible…. just how did they do it.

It just boggles my mind when I begin to wonder how they even built these magnificent structures back then!
