The Morning…. After the Rains that is

The welcome and heavy rains of the past 3 days, have for wee while left us with a sunny morning.  Thought I would visit Shipley Woods to see if the autumnal colours were starting to show.  Not as much as expected…. but the treat was a fresh spring like aroma, I guess courtesy of the rains and warmth.

The rains have brought down lots of crab apples.  Always small, but these are minute…  it was also time for a Cappuccino and giant  Cookie at the Lodge Café….. so I guess I can skip lunch. 🙂

The forecasters suggested that temperatures would be much lower, they were wrong… definitely short sleeve weather in this mornings sun. 

The return of the sunshine makes for a great day, but looking at the scorched meadows, we do need much more rain.
