June 1st…and meteorologically the first day of summer, a day of mixed fortunes. Very much colder than last weeks record breaking May heatwave, lots of clou s, just the occasional spot of rain…but also brief splashes of sunshine.
Not everyone agrees, but I do love the Welsh Poppies. Being self-seeded they spring up just about everywhere and anywhere. They flourish so freely, that I do understand why some folk wage a war against these random invaders. Some say they are a weed…. and as we all know, a weed is a wildflower in the wrong place – but for me not always. So, on a mainly dull, drab first day of summer, with their cheery sway, they added both colour. A blessing 🙂
