APRIL…… Welcome the Month of Showers!

Welcome to April

The First Day of April.  The month of Showers, or so say’s the old Country Rhyme….

the bonus being it will they add – bring forth May Flowers.

Back to reality.  April 1st is also known as April Fools Day.  Maybe we here in the UK are having a ‘trick’ played upon us……  The Forecaster tell us we have another flow of Icy Winds heading our way.

It may well put the breaks on Spring,  nothing we can do about that… apart from

Remembering to ….

Stay Safe …. Be Kind…. Look After Each Other

Goodbye April Showers…….

Fire-Boat-Bergen

Fire Boat, Bergen, Norway

We wave goodbye to April today…another month vanished in to our memories.  Despite all the lockdown restrictions the month has passed (well for us) just as fast as usual.

April is of course the month known in the seasonal rhyme as the month of Showers.

“April Showers bring forth May Flowers”

Not this year…..well not as far as showers are concerned.  April has proved to be both the driest but the warmest on record.

Though it does end with just a few rather heavy  showers.

Lets look forward to those May flowers…they will bring some extra joy into our lives to brighten these troubled days.

Please Remember ….

Stay Safe …. Be Kind…. Look After Each Other

The perfect mix…. Warmth, Rain and Sunshine

Meadow-Gate

Perfect growing conditions.  Our mild winter and warm spring gave the vegetation in woods and the wider countryside a great start to the year.

Add the rains of recent days, plus yesterdays warm sunshine and there has been a green explosion…. yep, the growth has been given a blast of the ‘supercharger’.

The truth is that whilst we did have some rain we do need a good deal more. Areas are tinder dry, the ground hard and water levels in reservoirs exceptionally low.

So much as we love warm dry sunny days, the reality is, that it may just be a luxury we need to forego.

A Ladies age is supposed to be one of those ‘secrets’ that should always be observed, one should never ask, and if you do know, never ever tell….But if you are a  member of the Royal family it is never ever a secret.  So it is congratulations to-day to Her Majesty Queens Elizabeth II on her 88th birthday.

Location: Balmoral Castle, Royal Deeside, Scotland…….Her Majesties favourite Summer Residence.
