Beautiful….. but also sad.
Brockhampton Chapel, Herefordshire
This is the secluded Brockhampton Chapel. Hiding away in a wooded corner of the Brockhampton Estate, is this rather grand Georgian Gothic style Church. Built I understand circa 1799 by George Byfield, the then owner of this then prosperous Herefordshire Country Estate. I also understand that the Chapel is dedicated to ‘All Saints’.
I said sad as the the Church (chapel) has been closed for some years. It is though a Grade II Listed Building and on the Registry of the Church Authorities, so has a degree of protection. Entry to the Church is by special arrangement… so equally as sadly no interiors views to share.
Brockhampton Chapel may not be in use…. but its style and its peaceful location still give it a special Spiritual air.
