Moody Monday….. Feeling a Little Blue ?

Moody Monday……   I do wonder in these Covid times, if Monday’s can still be associated with the start of yet another  working week.   I do appreciate that there are a significant number of people for whom, Pandemic or not,  have had to keep working… often for our benefit.

I find the only weekly difference these days, is just how fast the days merge into each other….Monday one day, blink and its Sunday again.

I thought this Blue Door, seen on a Faroe Island trip was just right ….. BLUE but much more cheerful than Moody!

No matter what your mood is today……

Moody Monday…… February !

February……. well we made it through January

The year has just begun, then we blinked and here we are at the start of February.

February is notorious for its wet weather and snow melts often causing flooding. Not surprising that Country folk have for many year referred to this month as..

February Fill Dike

In fact there was a poem that goes something like this

February fills dikes, overflows fields
and streams, turns paths to slippery ooze.

I cannot remember the rest…but you get the picture.

A New Month But Please Remember ….

Stay Safe …. Be Kind…. Look After Each Other

Silent Sunday…… and a New Year

The Old Man of Calke

The Old Man of Calke, a venerable Oak.  Bruised and battered, the weather has taken its toll.  Yet, the Oak is still standing after well over 1000 years.  His winter skeleton looks bleak and lifeless, but come the spring, he will sprout a new head of bright green Oak leaves, and celebrate another year.  The Old Man has been witness to much in his long life and with good fortune will see much more.

We all know that the past year has been both strange and tough.  This though is the first Sunday of our New Year a time to look forward.

As for what the future holds for all of us this New Year, is still unknown.  What we must do is have hope that some form of normality will return.

Just like the Oak we need to cling to our roots, our foundations, as best we can.

We can also help ourselves and others ….

One Step nearer……

OK., OK., OK.,   I know it was the winter solstice yesterday, and indeed we have a good deal of this winter yet to come…….   But even so, it is one day, one step nearer to Spring and some longer days of  daylight.

Please Remember ….
