A Change is on the Way…..perhaps welcomed by some.

Cool along the Woodland Trail

Despite no rain of any consequence I do think that recently, overnight, there has been some dew…certainly enough to help add some green back in to the countryside.

The morning sky had some spectacular clouds but like most days the blue returned, possibly an indicator that the change is on the way. Not all vegetation has been comfortable in the current dry spell, my favourite Silver Birch looks green but touch those leaves, they are paper dry and just drop.

So best make the most of the sunshine, a change they say is on the way, its just great to enjoy the freedom to walk without the waterproofs!

A little cooler but still nice to reach the cool of the  lakeside

  1. Wonderfully green, I can see? The grass over here has turned ‘bright brown’ for a long tim e ago, but yuesterday we had in fact – rain! You know – the ‘wet stuff falling’ out of the sky! And we haven’t seen anything of that since early May!

    1. Yep…. I know and we are warned that the strange stuff will fall tomorrow and most definitely over the weekend. Green is returning in the shady areas where the overnight dew is has fallen and has a chance to do dome good…out in the open the temperatures cause it to evaporate too quickly 🙂

        1. Our Weather services keep changing there minds as to where our rain will fall…..at the moment what ever path they keep on predicting we are either just south or just north of the band. So I guess that means we are bound to be the centre. Forecast is heavy rain approx. 50mm Hey Ho!

  2. Morning.
Overhere we did get some rain yesterday early morning. Then nothing. Although it was cooler, the sun’s strength is capable of warming up even a cool breeze. Yesterday the night was 21º. Sticky… Last night it was 14º. Much better. I am trying to cool the place down a bit. A little hopeful as the grey clouds float over. The forecast is a very strong Summer storm with lots and lots of downpour and gale force winds. Branches may fall off the trees. It’s supposed to start late afternoon and all through the night. Then all the heat should be blown away.
I fastened some rope around my pots on the balcony. Just in case. Willow will bend as does the hairy Willow rose, family of the Willow Herb. My onions are in bloom. They will probably not make it. We’ll see. I am all for COOL weather from now on… And new fresh green everywhere…
Footballclubs cannot play on dusty sand fields, horses and cows are alreay on the winter silage etc and there is no more hay to be found in all of Europe… Seems that coming winter we will have cheap meat. 😦

      1. You are so right. It’s very needed. They said it would be 200 days of rain all day to replenish all the water. It’s been bone dry. And we got it. Lots and lots of rain and the summer storm that wasn;t that dangeouse anymore when it reached us. 20º today and the occasional shower of rain. Always quite a lot of the stuff. Beautiful skies with blue, white and maybe even 50 shades of grey in it. 😀 Ah well… lots of different shades of grey anyway.
My oinion flowers survived. As this all the rest. We also happen to have a whasp plague. Nests of 10.000 or more are found. Insence usuals stops them. No such luck so keep eveything closed is an option…. sigh

  3. I think we´re all needing a change. Just when it comes, I hope it´s not crazy!

    1. Yep that is the fear and with the ground rock hard who knows where the rain will go…. it certainly will not help the plants and crops for sometime. Just think here in the UK most of us by March were bemoaning the wettest winter on record 🤔
