Only Fallow Deer busy feeding in the shade of the Oak Trees, no sign yet that the Rut is due to start. Nor where the Red Deer in evidence no doubt hiding in the bracken and shade deep into the woods. So I guess you could say this was the peace before the frantic sounds and action of the Rut….
