A May Mixture….

Teasels ….a throw back to Autumn

Spring is well underway but there are still the occasional reminders of autumn.  Teasel seed heads, hiding under the Hawthorn, are now dry… but reluctant to move on.

In the Meadows, May Bells, Cow Parsley and Campion are in flower and in the hedge Hawthorn blossoms.  In the dark woods the wild Rhododendron adds colour whilst the damp weather of the weekend has given the bluebells an invigorating temporary boost.

Not a half bad spring day, one where the sun is popping in and out just like the cuckoo clock….which reminds me I haven’t heard my first Cuckoo of Spring yet.

  1. I’m really liking your teasel throwbacks. I can picture them back in our north woods. It won’t be very green there yet, but it won’t be too long now. Thanks for the memory jog, David!
