A Day of Three Half’s !……

A Weeping Willow over the River Derwent, Derbyshire

OK.  I do know there are only ever two half’s to the day, though some days one half does feel longer than the other.   But as we approach the run up to mid- summer and the longest day, days like today seem to divide in to different parts each very different and each feeling rather long.

The day started, hot, humid, very grey and misty.  Probably not surprising after last nights  thunderstorms. Despite yesterdays downpours the river was rather still and dark, the horizon lost in the mist….but better weather for walkies than expected.  No time to waste.   So there ends part one.

Just after lunch the sun broke through and summer returned, what a change to the day.  So time for some garden duties.  Herb Robert is having a bonanza this season.  It has seeded itself in just about every nook and cranny., including in amongst the Hosta.  True gardeners would probably be horrified,  but we are rather proud that it has adopted our garden for a home….. and the Bees love it.

Not sure if it was the sun or just boredom as Buster soon lost interest in this gardening lark……   so 40 winks to end this particular ‘half ‘of the day….

The Blue Sky that had graced us this afternoon started to play host to some rather worrying clouds again….could it be thunder approaching ?

Well the answer to that is most probably yes…… the blue vanished,  a stormy sky heralded in the evening. Not very promising….

Nor are the forecasters very encouraging for either tomorrow or the rest of this week.  Nothing we can do about that, we can but wait and see…

Please Remember ….

Stay Safe …. Be Kind…. Look After Each Other
