Autumn comes to Chatsworth House, Derbyshire. Rightly dubbed the Palace of the Peak. Another description is that of a House in the Landscape. Easy to see why, a magnificent House in a magnificent setting, sandwiched between Woodlands and the River Derwent.

Ah I’ve been here❣️
It was a very cold, rainy and gray day in Nov and the estate looked nothing like your fabulous photo – all sunny and bright – but crossing the bridge it was breathtaking none the less. Oh how I wish I saw it on a day such as yours!!!
Chatsworth itself however was the most magical house to tour. I agree, “palace” is a suitable word to describe it.
Love the photo❣️

Make no mistake…. I have seen it in all seasons. Terrible weather in November but also some good days. Heatwaves in summer but also so some very wet days. Sometimes you get lucky. But the House is well described as a Palace. They decorate the interior for Christmas and then you do see it in yet another mood. I hope you get back some day, on a better day, when you can also maybe spend some leisurely time in the Gardens. Spring or Autumn great for colour. 🙂
