The Heritage Steam Engine ‘The Sir Nigel Gresley’ arriving in Goathland Station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
A goliath of Railway power from a long gone era. Travel was just becoming accessible to a wider population. Now , fast-forward a century, and you do wonder just what travel will be like, what restrictions will remain, once we pass through this Covid Crisis.
Whatever the future holds, for now…..

Looking at our world, David, it might look like that, but – I do think our human curiosity will win in the long run?
However, I’m pretty certain that we all will have to take a gigantic step backward and again introduce international vaccine certificates like those we had back in the 50thies? A gain for everyone wanting to travel!

Oo, I’d forgotten those!

It will have to be different… regulations will have to apply, some will see them as restrictions others as safety measures to allow freedom.

Nevertheless, -without a valid vaccine certificate you will not be admitted in. Pure safety measures! Remember, it is abslutely impossible to see if a person is vaccinated or not, and since restrictions will not be needed for people vaccinated, there has to be an official documentation. (A stamp in the passport will surely be forged?!)

Geeky question is that a Mallard Class train?

I think that is correct … but I am not a railway geek. It would have been fantastic to see it in full steam, full speed. Even ghosting into this station it oozed pent-up power.
