Derwent Water, Cumbria.
The English Lake District, in the heart of Cumbria, has so many places where you can just stand and stare. Here on the cliff slopes on the edge of Lodore Woods, is one of my favourites. Looking down on Derwent Water and its tiny islands, the mountain of Skiddaw beyond and the town of Keswick nestling below.
On a clear day you can even see, down the valley to the left, to the Solway Firth and the Mountains of Scotland beyond, just visible on the horizon on this lucky day.
Wherever you are, whatever your viewpoint….
