The sound of flowing water over a stony river bed is always both cooling and soothing. Such an ideal spot to site and ponder is here on the River Brathay, just below Nanny Brow at Clappersgate. Not far away is the famous Lake District town of Ambleside, sure to be busy, which makes this quiet river bank so appealing.
