The Cathedral of the Icon of Our Lady of Kazan
No excuses for revisiting this rather lavish Cathedral located on the gulf of Finland at Zelenogorsk. This rich interior of the Russian Orthodox Church, sits beneath traditional Onion Domes, in a stark white building all surrounded by woodland..
I was surprise to discover it was only built in 1915. But also surprised that it managed to survive several wars and revolutions and much misuse….. thankfully it has some care lavished upon it since.
