February, a new month. Traditionally February is the Snowdrop month.
Today all we have in the garden and local woods are a few very tiny green shoots, in fact they looked rather the same on January 1st. Last year, on February 1st., I was out with the camera capturing these harbingers’ of Spring.
The seasons are always a bit of a lottery… there was a time when seasonal change and the flora seemed to work to a well defines timetable….. not anymore.
So we live in hope that we will be blessed with a ‘White Carpet’ before too long. Snowdrops really are the true indicator that Spring is on its way., they may be small but they pack a big message.
No matter the vagaries of the seasons…..Lets start the month as we mean to go on…. so..

Aw, snowdrops! You must be well a month ahead of us! This morning we awoke to a blistering minus 9 degrees C.
Most of our snow has disappeared, however, we have been promised morse snow early February!
