Its Official… at 3.27am today it was the Winter Solstice.
Might not seem like it, but from tomorrow here in the northern hemisphere the daylight hours will start to get just a little longer again.
No doubt, at the Nine Ladies Stone Circle on Stanton Moor, there will be folk celebrating the Solstice… a tradition that they maintain for both summer and the winter solstice.
It may well be the astronomical winter solstice, but for many of us we will still feel as if the worst of winter has yet to come (or maybe not!)
Another marker of the progress of the seasons and time.

True… but I always feel that the speed back to longer days of daylight is slow than the drop down to the solstice.
